Long Range Transportation Plan

The 2040 Horizon Year Transportation Plan Development (2012)

The Clark County 2040 Horizon Year Transportation Plan (2012) is currently being drafted and we are currently accepting public input for the document.  This plan updates the one completed in 2008 and proposes projects and programs through 2040.

The Transportation Plan is a mechanism of the transportation planning process that is a listing of transportation projects that are consistent with the goals and objectives of the local area for the efficient maintenance of the current transportation system, provides for the proposed growth and expansion of the area, and is fiscally constrained.  These projects are consistent with the air quality standards of the State Implementation Plan.

Many factors such as land use, commercial growth, residential shifts, and future needs go into the transportation planning process.  These factors are documented in the current Comprehensive Plan for Clark County.  The Transportation Plan is the basis for furthering those projects to implementation in the Transportation Improvement Program.
